Natsuno Minami (南 奈津乃 Minami Natsuno) is a Protagonist is 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. She is the pilot of Sentinel No. 17.

Sci-Fi Fangirl

A perky, friendly girl on her school's track team who loves a good sci-fi story. She attends Sakura High School, has a younger brother, and is close with her neighbor, Tamao, who is the grandmother of Juro. She is childhood friends with Yuki, and befriended Iori and Miwako in elementary school. When she discovers a small robot hiding in the school, it seems like a story out of one of her favorite movies. However, she finds herself drawn into a massive, apocalyptic conspiracy in which the danger of her shows becomes disturbingly real.

Their long journey through a simulated reality has served to prepare them for a new life on a second Earth, somewhere in the direction of Virgo. 312	Respective Futures	N/A	Sector 4/1985: Sakura High, Front Gate	Takemi Wajima, same as ever, waits for Nenji Ogata in front of Sakura High. Ogata, to whom a lot of time has passed, is moved by his loyalty. At the front gate, Keitaro Miura and Natsuno Minami celebrate the return of BJ as Yuki Takamiya and Shu Amiguchi arrive. The two now have a child, Konatsu, despite their bickering.

Natsuno moving into position

Natsuno foregoes immediate burst damage for a more slow burn, deliberate style of play. Warmup Run is her ace in the hole. After traveling a certain distance, even the basic starter weapons of a Generation 3 Sentinel can mop up or heartily soften armored kaiju. The ability boosts her attack so greatly, even her Heavy Railgun can outdamage Miura's superior Mega Railgun if given enough room to move. With an option to install a Forced Cooling Device, she can act and recover quickly after an attack. This makes for a deadly combination and can keep the enemies at bay while running and gunning or stalling with more frequent EMP attacks. In the event her Sentinel is destroyed, she can move considerably faster on foot. So much so that she can even outrun most homing missiles locked onto her.

Compared to Miura and Kisaragi, Natsuno is faster than Kisaragi but weaker than Miura. Having everyone be critically damaged, being near Hi-Quads and replaying cleared stages with an S-Rank will boost her attack power. Attacking first, then having Miura attack second helps boost his attack as well.

Her weaknesses is time, set up, a lack of immediate safe damage, and an odd skill set that's too situational in order to reliably get the most of. It will take some time to activate Warmup Run, even with an upgraded Actuator (60 and above). The lack of Super Large Missile can lead to awkward situations where hordes of kaiju snowball into an unstoppable wave. Caution is highly advised when she's the only Generation 3 during APSOS boss fights. Homing Missile, her only high damage, wide hitting single attack, is not very reliable. Lastly, Gravity support from a Generation 4 or a Terminal Power is needed in order to efficiently kill a swarm of staggered kaiju with her railgun.

Pilot Skills

• Level 5: Sprinter - Move speed increases when not piloting a Sentinel.
• Level 10: Warmup Run - Attack increases temporarily, proportional to distance moved.
• Level 15: Research Notebook - Increases all stats when on a stage already completed with S-rank.
• Level 20: The War of the Worlds - If Hi-Quad is nearby, Attack significantly increases.
• Level 25: Gotta Stay Positive! - The more Kaiju there are, the higher all stats increase.
• Level 30: I Won't Give Up, BJ! - Significantly increases all stats when total HP of allies is 70% or below.

Etymology

• Natsuno's surname Minami means "south" (南). Natsuno (奈津乃) is composed of the kanji for chinese quince (奈), harbour, ferry (津), and belonging to (possessive particle) (乃).
