Tamao Kurabe (One Loop Ago) (鞍部 玉緒 Kurabe Tamao), also known as No. 18 or the Tamao Kurabe AI, is a character in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

The section below contains spoilers for the story of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. It would be ill-advised to scroll without caution if you want to have a blind experience with the game, or have not completed it in its entirety.

This Tamao Kurabe was originally a human from 1 loop ago. While the Tomi Kisaragi, Keitaro Miura, and Takatoshi Hijiyama of 1 loop ago tried to transfer their data into Sector 0, they got interrupted by an explosion and died inside the Type-98 Biped. They couldn't become humans in the next loop because their data was damaged from the explosion, but they managed to be salvaged as A.I.. Tetsuya Ida made an android body for both her and Tomi Kisaragi.

Tamao is aware of the 2188 logs, but doesn't agree with Miura poking his nose into the matter.

Juro Izumi would have been turned into a husk if it weren't for Tamao creating a new personality for him called Juro Kurabe. She also created the new personality so Chihiro Morimura could not turn Juro into 426 by implanting his memories. Tamao advises Renya Gouto to watch Ms. Morimura and keep her away from Juro Kurabe to not let her make another 426.

Tamao Kurabe made a rental agreement with Megumi Yakushiji, allowing her to live with Juro Kurabe under 2 conditions. One of them was to never talk about Juro Izumi or the future with Juro Kurabe, and only treat him as Kurabe. The 2nd condition was to notify her immediately if Juro starts to remember that he is Izumi. Due to being around Tetsuya Ida, Tamao has a dislike for Juro Izumi (426) and believes it will be dangerous if Kurabe turns back into Izumi. She is especially cautious due to Morimura's memory transplants on him.

While Natsuno Minami is getting chased by the Tomi Kisaragi android (426), BJ calls out for Tamao's help. Being led by No.17's signal, she finds the Kisaragi android and engages in combat with her. After triumphing in battle, 426 manages to switch bodies with Tamao, and effectively kills her.

The android version of Tamao Kurabe was revived by Tsukasa Okino in the epilogue. Meeting herself of the current loop, they discuss the miracle that happened in order for the 15 students to win the game.

104	A Promise to Tamao	Megumi Yakushiji	Sector 4/1985: Sakura High, Rooftop	Megumi Yakushiji cries by herself for Juro, who has become a different person. Tamao Kurabe approaches and tells her she can arrange for her to live with Juro. Agreeing to her terms, Yakushiji accepts the rental agreement for the Kurabe residence.
109	Exterminator	Natsuno Minami	Sector 4/1985: Sakura High, Girls' Bathroom	Natsuno Minami hides in one of the stalls in the girls' bathroom. Outside of the stall, the machines get into an intense battle. As things become quiet, Minami comes out of the stall only to be shot in the cheek by the android that looks like Tamao Kurabe.
313	Overcoming Obstacles	N/A	Sector 4/1985: Sakura High, Old Building	Takatoshi Hijiyama, Tamao Kurabe, and Tsukasa Okino visit the old school building at Sakura High. After a few words, Okino convinces Hijiyama to go out and spend some quality time together. Tamao Kurabe meets her other self for the first time, and the two chat about the success of the interstellar development program.
