Juro Kurabe's Childhood Friend
Kyuta Shiba is a non-player character in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Kyuta is the childhood friend of Juro Kurabe, and enjoys watching sci-fi and special effects films with him. Kyuta also gets along well with Shu Amiguchi, often visiting his home with Kurabe to play video games. While he may come across an innocent, carefree jokester, he seems to possess a strange power.

- Juro Kurabe (Childhood Friend)
Story
He was introduced as Juro Kurabe's best friend, having visited middle and grade school together. However, since all those memories are fake, it is revealed later that he is actually the personification of Juro Izumi's (Juro Izumi (Two loops ago)) personality, transferred into Juro Kurabe's nanomachines. In the reveal, he calls himself 48Q, Code name QTA_CBA, short Q-ta Shiba. He was created to provide his original memories in the form of video tapes, that then showed up as Juro's dreams, and stated they are now implanted in his brain, "running all around in there".

Etymology
- The name Kyuta means "long time" (久) (kyu) and "thick, big" (太) (ta).
- Kyuta's surname Shiba means "turf, lawn, sod" (芝).
