Takatoshi Hijiyama (2188) (比治山 隆俊 Hijiyama Takatoshi) is a 2188 Colonist in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

The Takatoshi Hijiyama of 2188 was one of the 15 residents of the 2188 space colony. Much like the Juro Izumi of 2188, it can be assumed that Takatoshi served as Security for Project Ark, due to a military background.

Story

Before the Nanomachine Infection

Before the nanomachine infection, Hijiyama was a member of the marine corps of 2188. He worked under and was the comrade of Juro Izumi and Nozomu Yakushiji. Hijiyama was also in a relationship with Tsukasa Okino, which may have earned him a spot on the colony.

On the Colony

After escaping the nanomachine infection, Hijiyama boarded the 2188 colony. Hijiyama’s old military comrade, Nozomu Yakushiji, flew to the colony with his daughter, Megumi Yakushiji as well. However, Nozomu was already infected with nanomachines when he arrived at the colony, and Hijiyama refused to let him in through the airlock. Hijiyama was prepared to lock Megumi out as well, until Juro Izumi offered to retrieve her and evaluate her conditon. Though reluctant to let Izumi risk his life for Megumi, Hijiyama eventually gave in after Izumi gave him a military order to let him through.

Sometime after this, Ryoko Shinonome informs Hijiyama that Okino installed bits of code from the Mighty Kaiju Deimos game into Project Ark. When Hijiyama calls and confronts Okino about this, his lover assures him that Deimos will not appear and that the simulation will be completely finished. Expressing their love for one another, Hijiyama and Okino then log off the call.

Power Dispute

After Ei Sekigahara blew up the power generator to assassinate Chihiro Morimura, there was a dispute on what the colonists should use their remaining energy for. While Hijiyama and Okino were for using energy to keep life support operational, Juro Izumi and Nenji Ogata wanted to devote the remaining energy to Project Ark. Eventually, the debate grew so heated that Izumi shot Okino, killing him, and a shootout between the colonists broke out. Hijiyama was able to kill both Izumi and Ogata in vengeance for Okino, but he bleeds out a few hours later after leaving a final log detailing these events.

Etymology

• The name Takatoshi means "prosperity" (隆) and "genius" (俊).
• Takatoshi's surname Hijiyama means "ratio" (比) (hi), "cure" (治) (chi/ji) and "mountain, hill" (山) (yama).
