Story
Before the Nanomachine Infection
Yuki Takamiya was a spacecraft engineer working with her daughter, Natsuno Minami, and the scientist Chihiro Morimura on Project Ark. Yuki was responsible for designing the probes used during the first phase of Project Ark. When the funding for Project Ark began to run low, Yuki Takamiya sent Natsuno Minami to ask Nenji Ogata of Shikishima Industries for more funds. Unfortunatly, Nenji declines Natsuno's and therefore Yuki's request, describing Project Ark as a "self-satisfying endeavor." Also, Natsuno Minami (Yuki's daughter) was dating the design engineer Keitaro Miura, despite Yuki not approving of the two's relationship. However, right before the nanomachine incident becomes inescapable, Miura helps Yuki and Natsuno make it to the 2188 colony.
On the Colony
After escaping the nanomachine incident and boarding the 2188 colony, it can be assumed that Yuki donated her DNA for Project Ark. By the time she got to the colony, Yuki had developed Project Ark's probes to the point that they were self-replicating, and would infinitely continue to carry out Interstellar Development. As one of Project Ark's original scientists, Yuki also helped Chihiro Morimura collect DNA samples. While doing this, she discovers that Tsukasa Okino is Morimura's son.
Death
While it is currently unknown how 2188 Yuki Takamiya died, it can be inferred that she died before both 2188 Ryoko Shinonome and 2188 Tetsuya Ida.
