Tetsuya Ida (2188) (井田 鉄也 Ida Tetsuya) is a 2188 Colonist in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

Profile

Manipulative System Administrator

The Tetsuya Ida of 2188 was one of the 15 residents of the 2188 space colony. From the Double Helix artbook, it can be inferred that he was the System Administrator for Project Ark. This means that he ensured that everything for Project Ark was coded correctly, reliably, and on time. Ida is also mentioned in the 2188 Ryoko Shinonome's final log, which characterizes him as a heartless playboy.

Story

Before the Nanomachine Infection
Not much is known about Tetsuya Ida before the nanomachine infection, other than the fact that he was the System Administrator of Project Ark, and may have entered into a relationship with Ryoko Shinonome during this time.

On the Colony
After escaping the nanomachine infection and boarding the 2188 colony, it can be assumed that Ida donated his DNA for Project Ark. As the System Admin of the Project, he was responsible for making sure that the 3rd and final phase of Universal Control works correctly.

After Morimura's assassination, and possibly the energy crisis shootout, Ida discovered that Juro Izumi changed Project Ark's settings to trigger a host overwrite for Chihiro Morimura. Ida pessimistically recorded a log to send to Renya Gouto about the host overwrite, and calls all of the other scientists hypocrites for trying to replace their clones with their own AI. However, Ida knows that his log won't change anything, and that everyone on the colony is dead anyway.

Tetsuya Ida was in an deceitfully intimate relationship with Ryoko Shinonome while on the colony. Even as he and Ryoko were the last members of humanity, Ida still found a way to betray her. While the details of Ida's betrayal are not explained in-game, George Kamitani (one of the game's directors) suggested in an interview that Ida could have refused a lover's suicide with Ryoko, causing her to fall into despair. Whatever the case, Ida's betrayal left Ryoko scornful towards humanity, and influenced her to maliciously tamper with Project Ark's third and final phase.

Death
Tetsuya Ida was one, if not the last, of the 2188 colonists to die. Ida could have been killed by Shinonome, committed suicide without her, or inevitably perished from life support failing across the colony.
