Takatoshi Hijiyama (比治山 隆俊 Hijiyama Takatoshi) is a character in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. He was the pilot of Sentinel No. 19.

Profile
A confident young Japanese soldier from Sector 5. Like the other compatibles that were killed in the explosion one loop ago[1], Hijiyama was brought back as an AI by Tetsuya Ida, and fought as the pilot of Sentinel No. 19 in the 2064 Kaiju Invasion.[2][3]
Personality
Due to the explosion interrupting his upload to Sector 0, Hijiyama suffered extensive damage to both his memory and personality data when he was reconstructed as an AI by Tetsuya Ida, making him much more unstable than the other AIs. The effects of DD-426 from the 2064 Kaiju Invasion worsened his condition, causing further errors in his programming.[4]
Prior to his death one loop ago, Tamao Kurabe (One Loop Ago) confirms that this Hijiyama was better at keeping up with his appearance than Takatoshi Hijiyama.[5]
Cut Content
Due to the extensive damage to both his memory and personality data, as well as further errors generated by the effects of DD-426 from the 2064 Kaiju Invasion causing him to be unstable since he was reconstructed as an AI, it was originally planned that there would have been a scene with Hijiyama pleading with Tsukasa Okino, asking to be erased.
There was supposed to be an intense scene where Hijiyama’s final wish, “The other me will be fine on his own, but please, protect Keitaro when he leaves for battle,” is unexpectedly fulfilled when Miura pilots No. 19.

Etymology
- The name Takatoshi means "prosperity" (隆) and "genius" (俊).
- Takatoshi's surname Hijiyama means "ratio" (比) (hi), "cure" (治) (chi/ji) and "mountain, hill" (山) (yama).
