The section below contains spoilers for the story of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. It would be ill-advised to scroll without caution if you want to have a blind experience with the game, or have not completed it in its entirety.

Mystery Files contain data that helps players clarify or learn new info about the story, as well as some extras.

There are a total of 250 mystery files in the game.

File No. 200 Yakisoba Pan

  • A processed food that combines sweet and salty yakisoba with a slightly sweet hot dog bun. Takatoshi Hijiyama’s favorite thing to eat. Because he once let a yakisoba pan go to waste after a punk knocked it from his hands, he’s decided the proper etiquette is to enjoy it somewhere alone so that no one can interfere.
  • Megumi Yakushiji blessed Hijiyama with her yakisoba pan when she happened to pass by as he was about to collapse from hunger. This is the moment yakisoba pan became Hijiyama’s favorite food, as well as the reason he started calling Yakushiji the “Yakisoba Pan Angel.
  • Hijiyama claims that “it’s the most delicious food that this era has to offer.


File No. 201 Tamao’s Ohagi

  • Though they’re lacking a bit of sugar, these ohagi that Tamao Kurabe made for Keitaro Miura and Takatoshi Hijiyama are still soft, moist, and filled with red bean paste. They were given five of each flavor: strained red bean, coarse red bean, and roasted soy flour.


File No. 202 Dinner from the Other Night

  • Dinner Megumi Yakushiji made for Juro Kurabe the other night. Consists of five dishes: salt-grilled mackerel, chikuzen-ni, a Japanese-style rolled omelet, rice, and miso soup. It was set up to be shared between two people.


File No. 203 Strawberry Crepes

  • This cream-filled crepe is a bargain, considering how many strawberries you get for the price. Iori Fuyusaka, Tomi Kisaragi, and Miwako Sawatari enjoy this on their way home from school. Known for a shell that’s sweet and crispy up top while soft and moist at the base.


File No. 204 Soft Serve

  • A superb soft serve that offers both a rich flavor and refreshing after-taste. Iori Fuyusaka, Tomi Kisaragi, and Miwako Sawatari enjoy this on their way home from school. The fragrant cone is delicious down to the very last bite.


File No. 205 Hot dogs

  • The hot dog, a popular dish that consists of a piping hot sausage placed in the middle of a slightly sweet bun, topped off with the sharp scent of mustard and bold chili sauce.  Iori Fuyusaka, Tomi Kisaragi, and Miwako Sawatari enjoy this on their way home from school.

File No. 207 Yakitori

  • This chef’s masterpiece uses chicken fresh off the farm and sweet, crunchy, long onions that are doused and grilled in a secret sauce. It’s forever a mystery how the flavor seems to gradually change everyday, satisfying both long-time regulars and first-time visitors.


File No. 208 Bento with Meatballs

  • A bento with meatballs that Megumi Yakushiji made. Keitaro Miura supposedly enjoyed this while on top of the riverbed, enjoying the view of Kaede River. Aside from the meatballs, the bento has a large umeboshi, hijiki, boiled spinach, kinpira gobo, an omelet, and butter sauteed squash.


File No. 209 Hemborger

  • Hamburg steak that Megumi Yakushiji made. Keitaro Miura praises it and says he’s “never had anything so delicious.” It’s also Juro Kurabe’s favorite dish. Juice oozes out of the soft patty.
  • Miura claims that it’s “the greatest culinary invention in history.”


File No. 210 Pear Tart

  • The most popular item from the first floor cake shop at the apartment where Tomi Kisaragi used to live. Kisaragi and Megumi Yakushiji would eat one at least once a week.


File No. 211 2025 Chocolate

  • Chocolate sold in 2025. Technological innovation made it possible for cacao to be grown inside a greenhouse in Japan. This gives birth to a new fruity chocolate that melts in your mouth and offers the perfect bittersweetness. Its catchphrase is, “No matter how bad your day is going, this chocolate will put a smile on your face.” Manufactured by VW company.


File No. 212 2025 Canned Soda 1

  • ”VALKYRIE” is a canned soda that Nenji Ogata found for Tomi Kisaragi in the 2025 ruins. No matter how tired you are, one sip of this energy drink will recharge you instantly.


File No. 213 2025 Canned Soda 2

  • ”Fruit Nectar PAW PAW” is a canned juice that Nenji Ogata found for Miwako Sawatari in the 2025 ruins. A 30% fruit juice that uses a popular fruit called “papaw,” also known as the custard apple.


File No. 214 Canned Cat Food

  • ”Camy” is the cat food that Megumi Yakushiji buys for Fluffy. A luxurious cat food that only uses white tuna.
  • Canned cat food that Tsukasa Okino buys for a stray cat, Shintaro. Shintaro keeps showing up at Sakura High School ever since Okino fed him one day, so Okino starts bringing the canned cat food for him daily.


File No. 215 Mighty Kaiju Deimos

  • A kaiju movie that was released in 1954. The first of the series that feature the giant kaiju Deimos. Surpassing an audience of 9.61 million people, this masterpiece was shown in color, rare for special effects films of the time. This marked the first of a long-running series that produced “Deimos vs. Mecha-Deimos” in 1974.


File No. 216 Deimos (Game)

  • An online full dive game that was released in 2154 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of “Mighty Kaiju Deimos.” The objective of the game is to survive the disaster caused by the Mighty Kaiju Deimos. Players become residents of a major city five days before the kaiju appear, and get to experience the fated day of their invasion in this simulation survival game. From an old woman who runs the cigar shop to a young man who seeks to avenge his parents, 10 million independent NPCs lead their lives in a digital metropolis that’s 30 km long. Even experts were astounded by the elaborately constructed AI, their behavior indistinguishable from real humans. The highlight, however, is the tremendous power of the Mighty Kaiju Deimos. The doomsday clock is ticking! Blast through Mighty Kaiju Deimos with an arsenal of mechsuit weaponry, and fight to defend humanity! Developed by Vanillaware Ltd.    
  • Tsukasa Okino borrowed a portion of this game’s internal code structure when creating Universal Control.


File No. 217 UFO Mysteries

  • A special TV series that shows shocking footage and all the latest info about UFOs. The entire series is presented documentary-style. Although UFOs and aliens never actually end up appearing, the search for them is fascinating enough to carry the show.


File No. 218 E.X.T.

  • A sci-fi movie released in 1982. A touching story about an alien that got stranded on Earth connecting with a young boy. It’s famous for the scene where the boy takes flight as he rides his unicycle, the sun setting in the background. Natsuno Minami is such a huge fan of the movie, that she watched it three times in theater AND countless times on TV broadcasts and video. Minami claims that one “can’t talk about aliens without seeing that movie.”


File No. 219 The War of the Worlds

  • A famous sci-fi novel released in 1898, by that one famous writer. It’s about Martians invading Earth using three-legged weapons called Tripods. A war between the Earthlings’ world and the Martians’ world ensues.


File No. 220 School Uniform

  • Uniform that students of Sakura High School are required to wear. The boys’ version has a stand-up collar, while the girls’ is a sailor outfit with a big collar. Sakura High School is a comprehensive junior and senior high school, but all students wear the same uniform regardless of their grade level. Though School uniforms are mainly used to specify which school students belong to and heighten the students’ sense of belonging, it’s said their historical and cultural significance is why they remain in use.


File No. 221 School Bag

  • A bag that students use when attending school. These are a few variants made out of natural leather (mainly cowhide) or artificial leather. Inside Yuki Takamiya’s flattened bag is a steel plate instead of textbooks.


File No. 222 P.E. Bag

  • A vinyl bag specific to the school. The material isn’t the best. It’s uncomfortable when it sticks to your skin on sweaty summer days, and it’s cold to touch during the winter.


File No. 223 Documents in the Nurse’s Office

  • A document with a photo of Juro Kurabe, but the name on it is Juro Izumi. It says, “Psyche stabilized via drug administration. The patient is obedient and in general good health.”
  • The “medication record” that Ryoko Shinonome found in the nurse’s office that contained the following details: Iori Fuyusaka: Nanomachines anchored. Memory transplant...Attempt #7. Ryoko Shinonome: Memory Separation progressing...3rd phase...Like Juro Izumi...Giving personality formation measures.
  • In the Nurse’s office, Ei Sekigahara found the medical records of three students:”Ryoko Shinonome,” “Shu Amiguchi,” and “Juro Izumi.” It stated that Ryoko Shinonome is being treated with two types of pills, C0204 and C22, in an attempt to delay nanomachine separation in the brain and enhance her memory link. It’s been over a week since she last received a does. Shu Amiguchi was administered a nanomachine medication called NM: A8076 once. There’s also a note that says “20% transplant rate.” Juro Izumi is receiving two types of treatment, NM: A8075 and B01. He received four doses of A8075, then switched to B01 from the fifth dose on. There’s a scribbled note that says “B01 was synthesized by Tamao Kurabe.”


File No. 224 Chopsticks for Two

  • Chopsticks for a married couple. Juro Kurabe and Megumi Yakushiji use them for dinner. They have a cute sakura design on them and are made out of ash tree, a hard yet supple material.


File No. 225 Seaside Vacation (Song)

  • The debut song of the new idol, Miyuki Inaba. This single was pulled from her debut album, “M’control”, and sold as a flexi disc. With a successful low-price sales strategy, the song sold like hotcakes and gained tremendous support from middle-schoolers and high-schoolers.
  • Sounds just like the song Tomi Kisaragi used to sing in middle school, but arranged in a more ‘80s style.


File No. 226 Fuyusaka’s Student ID

  • Student ID for Sakura High School. Iori Fuyusaka dropped this on her way to school when she bumped into Ei Sekigahara.
  • After Sekigahara lost his memories, he finds this student ID in his pocket and realizes that it belongs to “Class 1-B, Iori Fuyusaka” of Sakura High School. Although Sekigahara recognizes Fuyusaka’s face, he can’t remember how he knows her.


File No. 227 Key

  • After Ei Sekigahara lost his memories, he finds this in his pocket. It’s a key for some sort of vehicle and has an emblem on the handle.
  • The key to Sekigahara’s motorcycle. The emblem portion is a button, and pressing it causes the motorcycle to drive itself to the key’s coordinates.


File No. 228 Amiguchi’s Motorcycle

  • Shu Amiguchi rides this motorcycle to school even though it’s against the rules. Shikishima GRD250, Engine Displacement 249cc, Forward lean of 45 degrees, air-cooled, four-cylinder mount, Top speed of 170 km/h, Manufactured by Shikishima in February 1985.


File No. 229 Sekigahara’s Motorcycle

  • Ei Sekigahara’s motorcycle from the future. Its name is Shikishima SXR-NR. It uses a powerful bearingless motor manufactured by Shikishima Industries and reaches a top speed of 450 km/ h. Its safety features have been improved, and it can stand on its own while stopped or at low speed, preventing skidding with a jet that shoots compressed air. It even has a feature where it finds its way to the owner, thanks to the self-driving and biometric authentication system.
  • This motorcycle originally belonged to Morimura, but since Sekigahara is borrowing it from her, both Morimura and Sekigahara are registered as its user.


File No. 230 Second Graders (Magazine)

  • Nenji Ogata’s most treasured item when he was in elementary school. A grade-based educational magazine that was released in 1976. The free gifts attached to this were the “Multiplication Train” and the flexi disc version of “Terror of Mecha-Deimos.”


File No. 231 League of Darkness

 
  • Evil organization that appeared in “Kamen Hero Stranger,” a TV show that Nenji Ogata was obsessed with in second grade. They focused on destroying human society and nature, with Chief Evil at the helm. They consist of the “machine people,” humans that were turned into cyborgs, and other nefarious forces of darkness.


File No. 232 Shikishima Industries

  • A business affiliated with Shikishima Conglomerate. The conglomerate has political ties and grew to its large size during the Meiji era. They started off their business mainly with shipbuilding, but afterward entered the air transportation sector. During the war they focused on weapons production, and post-war they became a world famous machinery maker that makes everything from household electronics to rockets.


File No. 233 Cheek Scar

  • Natsuno Minami got this when Tamao Kurabe’s android shot her in the face. It looks as if she’s been stabbed by a needle.  Minami doesn’t remember anything about what happened before or after it. The red marking almost looks like the number 17. Right as she was about to shoot Minami, Tamao’s android said, “Those monsters, the ones that destroyed the city...They have a new commander...And it’s you. So, starting now… I’ll be the one giving you your orders.”
  • A gunshot wound from when she was shot by the syringe gun. It injects nanomachines that add a code to summon the Sentinels along with a code that expands their capabilities.


File No. 234 Stuffed Rabbit

  • Chihiro’s mother made this for her, despite not being very good at sewing. It’s pieced together with mismatched scraps of cloth. The Chihiro in 1945 took this with her wherever she went.
  • Keitaro Miura retrieved the stuffed rabbit from the air raid wreckage and handed it to Chihiro when they were reunited at Ayame Park in 1985.


File No. 235 Black Wallet

  • A fancy leather wallet. Inside are two 10,000 yen bills, one 5,000 yen bill, two 1,000 yen bills, one 500 yen bill, one 100 yen coin, two ten yen coins, a receipt from a restaurant (2,400 yen charge for four plates of katsu curry), and no credit cards.


File No. 236 Cryptic Note

  • A piece of folded paper found in the pocket of the dead woman (Ms. Morimura). The two rows of numbers are “443685 3214.”
  • These are the numbers for the message service in 1985, which Ei Sekigahara entrusted to Morimura before he lost his memories.


File No. 237 Brown Envelope

  • An envelope that was on the ground near where Ei Sekigahara woke up. There was a document and a note inside. The document says, “Chihiro Morimura, 31. Sakura High School nurse. A key member of Shikishima’s weapon development team.” The note says, “If capture is not possible, then shoot to kill.”
  • Tetsuya Ida was the one who instructed Morimura to kill Morimura.


File No. 238 Minami’s Notebook

  • Natsuno Minami’s large notebook that starts off with, “What follows is an investigative record of important moments in time and space.”
  • Investigative Record 1: “...I have finally encountered my destiny. He has arrived from outer space. An actual extraterrestrial being! In summary, whoa. Aliens really do exist.”
  • Investigative Record 2: “These advanced life-forms have managed to conquer time and space itself. Who could have dreamed that their technology had such capability...An actual gateway to time travel. Right in Tokisaka Shrine!”
  • Investigative Record 3: “He says he’s looking for a robot. It’s called Sentinel No. 17. Riding inside of it seems to enable him to fight against evil aliens.”


File No. 239 Kisaragi’s Glasses

  • Similar to the glasses that Yuki Takamiya finds in the girls’ bathroom in the north school building. The glasses that Tomi Kisaragi wears have a red frame made of plastic, originally developed for use in airplanes (and thus very light and flexible) so they won’t break even if they get twisted. The lenses cut out 100% of ultraviolet rays and high-energy visible light. Takamiya thought that Kisaragi, who has the same exact glasses as the scrapped pair she found, might have something to do with Natsuno Minami’s disappearance.


File No. 240 Kurabe Residence Layout

  • A large old house with a total floor space of 160 square meters. Originally was just one-story, but was rebuilt to add a second story. Juro Kurabe uses the backroom of the second floor, Megumi Yakushiji uses the middle room on the east side of the first floor, and Keitaro Miura uses the guest room closest to the entrance area of the first floor.
  • The Kurabe Residence Layout was created by Keitaro Miura in 2188, based off of the things Tamao Kurabe heard from her grandfather as well as the old films that remained.


File No. 241 Photo of Takamiya and Minami

  • Photo of Yuki Takamiya and Natsuno Minami when they were in elementary school. This picture was taken near the home of Takamiya’s grandmother on her father’s side. Around this time, Takamiya liked her hair short, and Minami was known as the illustrious Dr.Space.


File No. 242 Gouto’s Notebook

  • Notebook that Renya Gouto always walks around with. It includes schedules, diary entries, investigative findings, issues, unanswered questions, and more, all written with characteristic conciseness and clarity. This is one of the birthday gifts that Gouto was given each year by his father, but he only has a few more days before all the pages are filled.


File No. 243 Photo of Gouto

  • Photo of Renya Gouto that Miwako Sawatari took in secret. For a picture taken in haste, it’s miraculous that the picture had such perfect focus. Looking at this photo, Keitaro Miura was able to put Gouto’s name to a face.


File No. 244 Japanese History Book

  • A Japanese History book published in January of 1985. It contains Japanese history from the Stone Age up to the first half of the 1980s. Keitaro Miura reads this book in Shu Amiguchi’s room.


File No. 245 House Key

  • A key to the apartment that Tomi Kisaragi lives in.
  • A disc cylinder key for a luxury apartment, prepared by Shikishima in 1985.

File No. 247 Rental Agreement

  • A rental agreement allowing Megumi Yakushiji to live at the Kurabe House. In order for Yakushiji to receive the rental agreement from the owner, Tamao Kurabe, she was presented with two terms. The first is to treat Juro as Juro Kurabe, and not tell him about anything from the future, or about himself. The second is that if he starts calling himself Juro Izumi, she must report it.
  • This was prepared by the Tamao android, which contains the simulated personality of Tamao Kurabe.


File No. 248 Okino’s Letter

  • Letter left to Takatoshi Hijiyama by Tsukasa Okino, who had disappeared. Okino prepared the message in the event that something might happen to him, explaining that he had tinkered with Hijiyama’s body, shared Sentinel No.12 with him, and placed the activation switch on his left forearm.


File No. 249 The Truth

  • The place they reside on now is “Planet RS13 Alpha,” 1,200 light years from Earth following the Virgo constellation. It has been 20 million years since the probes departed Earth. When the terraforming of the new planet was finished, the cloning process from the DNA of the 15 began in the facility area. The city that the 15 believed to be reality was a simulated environment in digital space, while in reality, their true bodies were gestating in growth pods. The nanomachines in their brain made their experiences feel real. These are the experiences of 15 children who ventured forth into an undiscovered land, 20 million years after humanity initiated Project Ark on the brink of extinction. After millenia of wandering through space, they finally found a new home.
