Kasumi Tokisaka Shrine
| |
1944
| |
Tsukasa Okino (as Kiriko Douji) runs to the shrine.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | Looks like they're starting to panic down there. |
Kiriko Douji: | The sooner I'm out of here, the better. |
Tsukasa Okino walks closer to the shrine, opening the terminal for the shifter. It is locked.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | ...That's weird. |
Kiriko Douji: | Someone changed the shifter's access key, huh? |
Kiriko Douji: | Not that it matters. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama runs over to Tsukasa Okino, who quickly closes the terminal and turns to face him.
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Kiriko-san! |
Kiriko Douji: | So you came after me, Hijiyama-kun. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | This has to be some misunderstanding. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | You can't be a spy, can you? |
Tsukasa Okino laughs.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | Sounds like the professor, all right. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Why did you run off? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | The military's looking for you. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | They think you stole some kind of intel... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | But you're the professor's daughter! |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | You can't be a spy—it doesn't make sense! |
Kiriko Douji: | Sorry to break it to you. I'm not his daughter. |
Kiriko Douji: | The real Kiriko Douji's still over in Tokyo. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | What!? |
Tsukasa Okino calmly walks past him.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | But the whole "spy" thing's kind of a stretch. |
Kiriko Douji: | I don't need to steal any secrets on the Sentinels. |
Kiriko Douji: | I'm the one who built them, after all. |
Consider: Kiriko Douji
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Professor Douji led the Sentinel Project for our efforts in the war. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | His daughter, Kiriko-san, came along with him, but... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | ...What does it mean if this isn't her? |
Consider: Sentinel
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Is she serious? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | She says she built the Sentinel herself, but... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | What are you talking about...? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | ...What happened to you? |
Kiriko Douji: | That's about what I figured you'd say. |
Kiriko Douji: Kiriko Douji
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | If you're not the real Kiriko, then... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Then who are you? |
Tsukasa Okino turns away.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | You wouldn't believe me if I told you. |
Kiriko Douji: | Or maybe... |
Tsukasa Okino turns back to face Takatoshi Hijiyama.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | This really isn't about who I am. |
Kiriko Douji: | Maybe it's just about what you feel towards me. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | I-I, uh... |
Kiriko Douji: Sentinel
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | I'm not sure I believe this... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | You built them? |
Kiriko Douji: | Yeah, that was me. |
Kiriko Douji: | I drew up the designs in an editor. |
Kiriko Douji: | Then I just had to send the order into an automated factory. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | But that's... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | No, you're probably just confused, that's all... |
Kiriko Douji: | I even implanted the linking component into your head. |
Kiriko Douji: | Though you wouldn't remember, of course. Anesthesia, and all. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | When you came to the factory... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | You said you were there on behalf of the professor... |
Kiriko Douji: | It was as good a cover story as any. |
Kiriko Douji: | You're kind of a simple guy. |
Kiriko Douji: | There's something about you, though... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | What are you even saying...? |
Kiriko Douji: | I'm saying... I'm gonna miss you. |
Tsukasa Okino walks past him, over to the shifter again, reopening the terminal.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | But my key just finished decrypting. |
Tsukasa Okino steps into the shifter, turning to face Takatoshi Hijiyama.
| |
Kiriko Douji: | So that's it. |
Kiriko Douji: | This is goodbye. |
Tsukasa Okino shifts, disappearing.
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Ngh— |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Kiriko-san? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama steps forward, assessing the area.
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | She vanished...? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | That's impossible... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama walks further ahead to the edge of the forest.
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | It was barely a moment... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | She can't have had time to run into the mountains. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Where did Kiriko-san go...? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Oh—someone's coming... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | He's the one who snuck into the factory! |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | There's something fishy about him... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | But... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | If he's working with her, then... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | He might know where she's gone. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | I'll hide behind a tree and see what he's up to... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama hides behind a tree. Ei Sekigahara enters, stopping at the shrine's gate.
| |
Ei Sekigahara: | Tokisaka Shrine, huh? |
Ei Sekigahara opens the terminal for the shifter.
| |
Ei Sekigahara: | If this log is right, Okino just crossed over... |
Ei Sekigahara: | Might still catch up if I'm fast. |
Ei Sekigahara: | Coordinates read Sector 4, in the year 1984... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama steps out, approaching Ei Sekigahara.
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Give it up. There's nowhere to run! |
Ei Sekigahara: | Hijiyama... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | So you're the spy... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | But there's no escaping me now. |
Ei Sekigahara: | ... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | What are you doing here? |
Ei Sekigahara: | If I told you, you'd laugh in my face. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Answer me, or I'll do more than laugh at you! |
Ei Sekigahara: | ...I'm going to time travel to another era. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Is that a joke, or are you just insane? |
Consider: To Another Time
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | He's just playing games with me. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | "Time travel"? Really? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | This is reality, not some penny dreadful... |
Ei Sekigahara: | There's no point explaining myself to you. |
Ei Sekigahara: Kiriko Douji
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | You know Kiriko Douji? |
Ei Sekigahara: | Yeah. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | I knew it... |
Ei Sekigahara: | Though that wasn't actually her, of course. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Is that really true? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | She said something along those lines, too... |
Ei Sekigahara: | ..."She", huh? |
Ei Sekigahara: | Must've been pretty convincing, then. |
Ei Sekigahara: | His real name is Tsukasa Okino. |
Ei Sekigahara: | He wears that stuff for his own reasons. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Wh—Don't joke about that! |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | You're just trying to confuse me... |
Consider: Tsukasa Okino
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | This can't be true, can it? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Was the Kiriko Douji I knew... really a man? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | This "Tsukasa Okino"? |
Ei Sekigahara: To Another Time
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | You're going to time travel, huh? |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Try a better story next time. |
Ei Sekigahara: | This "Kiriko Douji" of yours? |
Ei Sekigahara: | He did it himself just moments ago. |
Ei Sekigahara: | Escaped from here into the future. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | I'm not falling for your lies. |
Ei Sekigahara: | I don't have time for this. |
Ei Sekigahara: | Step back. I'm going after him. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Well... |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | So you do know where she went. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Where? Show me. |
Ei Sekigahara: | You don't want to get caught in this shift. |
Ei Sekigahara: | Keep your distance. |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | Right, your "time travel." |
Takatoshi Hijiyama steps even closer, undaunted.
| |
Takatoshi Hijiyama: | I'd like to see you try it. |
Ei Sekigahara: | Don't say I didn't warn you. |
Ei Sekigahara turns, reopening the terminal and activating the shifter. Both Ei Sekighara and Takatoshi Hijiyama are caught in the shift.
