Overview
Hamanashi is a location in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, in a neighbouring prefecture to Ashitaba City. It is roughly 100 kilometres away from Ashitaba City.[1]
Yuki Takamiya describes Hamanashi as being in the countryside, with lots of rice paddies.[2]
Yuki Takamiya states that her maternal grandmother lives there, but that she hasn't seen her since her parents divorced.[3] Shu Amiguchi states that his grandfather lives there, as well.[4]
In reality, Hamanashi does not exist within the simulation. Any memories of it are just the result of Universal Control filling in the blanks, resulting in people having very similar (if not identical) experiences outside of Ashitaba City.[5]
